iTWire Wednesday, 18 December 2024 07:57 Neo4j Supports Career and Skills Portal for DXC Technology 0 Michele Howard, Product Owner and Workforce Management Data Analytics Specialist, DXC Technology COMPANY NEWS: DXC Career Navigator boosts DXC Technology’s internal hiring by 12% and cuts attrition by 40%, enhancing the business’ competitive edge. Neo4j , the world’s leading graph database and analytics company, announced that it has supported the development of a powerful career and skills management portal for IT consulting firm, DXC Technology. The portal, known as DXC Career Navigator Digital Skills and Mentoring platform, enables DXC staff to explore potential career advancement pathways and better match their skills with the requirements of specific client projects. Built using Neo4j Enterprise and Graph Data Science modules, DXC Career Navigator has enabled DXC to unify a range of different data sources and achieve better insights into employee skill sets. Data sources connected to the portal include the company’s organisational hierarchy, learning records, skill profiles, past, present, and future assignments, and third-party skill data. The development of DXC Career Navigator began in 2021 when the company realised that spreadsheets and relational databases could no longer provide the support required for talent acquisition and retention. The project began with constructing a graph of DXC employee skills, learning requirements, and previous assignments. A Neo4j graph database was then configured to model the relationships between the variables. A minimal viable product (MVP) version of DXC Career Navigator was trialled with 5,000 employees. After the pilot’s success, the tool was launched to all staff across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. Today, DXC Career Navigator connects employee data from multiple internal platforms, including organisational hierarchy, learning records, skill profiles, past, current, and future assignments, and third-party skill data. Since its deployment, Career Navigator has supported more than 14,000 employees across the company. The portal has helped to decrease attrition rates from 24% to less than 15% and increase internal hiring by 12%. To date, more than 8,000 employees have created career profiles on the portal, and 5,000 have built a career development plan. As a result, employees know more about in-demand skills and see opportunities within the company for future promotions and client assignments. Managers connect employee assignment history, learning, and skills data to make career conversations easier. Michele Howard, Product Owner and Workforce Management Data Analytics Specialist, DXC Technology, said, “Career Navigator reinforces DXC’s commitment to supporting business growth while giving our employees a tool that supports their career goals and the advanced skills to succeed now and in the future. “When GenAI and other new technologies are ready for mission-critical work, our people will be there. Career Navigator and Neo4j graph database help get our employees ahead of any skills gap and future-proof our business.” Read 6 times It's all about Webinars.
