Hopper’s HTS lands second card partnership in South Korea

Dec 10, 2024

Hopper’s HTS lands second card partnership in South Korea 10/12/2024 by WiT Travel booking portal to be launched with Woori Card HTS, the B2B division of Hopper, has landed its second partnership in South Korea, signing on card company Woori Card, a subsidiary of Woori Financial Group. The agreement calls on HTS, which now accounts for over 75% of the Hopper business, to develop a travel booking portal for Woori Card cardholders and Woori WON members. Earlier this year, it announced a similar agreement with Lotte Card to develop a travel booking portal for their cardholders, due to be launched in 2025. “Through both these partnerships we are set to reach millions of customers in Korea, offering them a world-class travel booking solution,” said a Hopper spokesperson. Woori WON members, which includes Woori Card cardholders and Woori Bank users, can accumulate the bank’s reward currency, known as Honey Money, by using Woori financial products, participating in events and quizzes, and more. With over 12.5 million users, the WON app is the central location for members to unlock added benefits and spend their rewards. In partnership with HTS, Woori Card plans to create an enhanced app offering, providing a more compelling place for members to earn and burn Honey Money on travel. “Woori Card is proud to partner with HTS to build a cutting-edge, modern solution for travel booking and loyalty,” said a Woori Card spokesperson. “HTS has a proven track record of developing travel marketplaces that address modern customer needs globally, and together, we’re going to create a digital platform that best serves our Woori Card cardholders and WON members.” “Travel is the largest category of discretionary spending — by developing an unbeatable travel rewards program and platform, banks can capture more spend, increase loyalty and drive repeat purchases,” said Dakota Smith, President and Co-Founder of Hopper. “We are thrilled to partner with Woori Card to deliver a booking solution that delights their customers and drives business results.” With its strong outbound market, South Korea has become the market to chase for both local companies and global players. At WiT Seoul, held November 27, the audience learnt that year to date, October, the number of outbound travellers in 2024 stands at 23.5m, just slightly under 2019’s 24.2m.
