Sign Up × Frasers Group's 100,000 sq ft concept store at the Overgate Shopping Centre in Dundee is now scheduled to open in May. This comes alongside news of more store openings, including Flannels - which is planned to open at the same time - and new lease extensions by existing key tenants. The retail group bought Overgate in March 2023 , with a multi-million-pound renovation of the former Debenhams unit within the centre set to become FRASERS - and home to Sports Direct, USC, Evans Cycle and GAME. Meanwhile, fashion chain Mango will take over a 4,081 sq ft unit on the ground floor of the centre in April, with a 10-year lease signed. Clarks Shoes is also on track to open a 2,160 sq ft store during the same month. Castore has just opened a 1,649 sq ft store on the upper mall, signing a five-year lease. Mooboo Tea has just opened its concept store on the upper level, signing a 10-year lease, while US bakery chain Cinnabon also signed a 10-year lease and is expected to open this spring. This coincides with the relocation of Muffin Break, which has expanded into a larger unit on the lower mall, beside the Five Guys. Three existing tenants - Next, Office and TUI - have also extended their leases. Centre manager Malcolm Angus commented: “The FRASERS concept store is one of the largest shop fit-outs Dundee has ever seen. “Everything, on every level, will be brand new - once complete, FRASERS will be a remarkable modern department store that will transform Overgate, regenerate the city of Dundee, and strengthen the east coast of Scotland’s retail offering. “Overgate welcomed around eight million visitors in 2024 and we expect that to rise significantly in 2025.”
